  1. The metadata is all wrong

    It’s not “Theme – Ace Combat – Namco Laserdisk – Unknown” 😛

It’s “Theme – Air Combat – Arcade – Hiroyuki Kawada”

Also, I’m starting to notice my picks are being used a bit as ending talkbeds, I wonder why that is…. 😛

Well anyway, I’m glad my question made it in!

      1. OK, I think I know where the confusion came from, I sent you guys an old Laserdisc superplay video of Air Combat since I figured not many people have seen the original game (it’s not properly working on MAME atm and cabinets are scarce) and the uploader of it erroneously named it “Ace Combat Namco Laserdisc). I’m pretty sure I sent the proper tags along with that though!

Yes, the 1992 arcade game Air Combat is the genesis of the long running Ace Combat series, although it should not be confused with the 1995 PlayStation game, Air Combat (known as Ace Combat in Japan) as it’s an entirely different game.

Also, In regards to the talkbed thing, I’m not upset about it or anything, I know y’all got a set length of songs each week and I’m sure you don’t wanna step on any toes of patrons, so don’t worry about it!

      2. ah, okay awesome thanks! I thought it was some crazy special laserdisc thing, and not from the arcade system 21. thanks as always! I had no idea they released “super plays” on laserdisc! I’ve seen VHS of shooters out there, and certainly DVDs too. very cool.

  2. Yeah Rob! Namco and Taito released a bunch of LD superplays back in the day!

Here’s one for example a superplay of Air Combat arcade’s sequel, Air Combat 22 (as the name suggests, ran on Namco System Super 22 hardware):

I hope the metadata for this episode gets straightened out!

  3. Uh, Kristy here. In all fairness, I make fun of your beet and ginger smoothies because you gag as you eat them. It’s extra funny because you somehow convince yourself THIS TIME it’ll be different.
