Episode 13-6: Rain

It’s raining outside! That means we need to stay inside all day and play video games! Darn! Rob and Pernell share their favorite rainy-day themed music! Rain used in games as back-drops to set the mood and create a unique atmosphere, so the music is composed accordingly. Episode 10-10 100th Episode Celebration!

episode_artwork100

In the words of Kool & The Gang: Celebrate Podcasts! Okay I know that’s not what they said, but it’s what they meant. This episode marks 100 episodes of Rhtyhm and Pixels! That’s 100 MP3 files of great music, remixes, and friendship.

We celebrate by revisiting our favorite topics from each “podcast world”, and choosing new tracks! Why did we do this funky episode numbering in the first place? Don’t worry about it!

Thank you to all of our listeners. You’re more like friends then just people on the other end of the headphone jack. We love all of you ❤

Episode 9-6 Password and Save Select

episode_artwork86

Okay, where did I put that password. Is it in the back of the game’s manual? Is it on a post-it note stuck to my Gameboy? Oh there it is, of course! I had it tattooed on Pernell so I would never lose it!

This week we get goofy and listen to music composed for password screens and save select screens. Password functions are typically in older game systems that didn’t commonly support full game saves, so many of our tracks are from the classic 8bit and 16bit eras. We also included “save select” music to help cover more ground 🙂  Enjoy the tunes!

  1. File Select – Yoshi: Topsy-Turvy – Gameboy Advance – Tatsuyuki Maeda, Masaru Setsumaru
  2. Password – The Guardian Legend – NES – Masatomo Miyamoto, Takeshi Santo
  3. Password – Arcus Odyssey – Genesis – Motoi Sakuraba
  4. Password – Mega Man V – NES – Mari Yamaguchi
